The Altar & Rosary Society was established by Fr. Stanislaus Ciolek in 1967 at Nativity Church. Since then all pastors assigned to our parish have been involved with our organization.
The goal of the Society is the sanctification of the members and their families through a special devotion to the Mother of God and by good example to promote this devotion in our parish.
The Pastor functions as the Spiritual Director of the Society and is consulted on special matters pertaining to the Society.. The Pastor attends our meetings as his time permits.
Members are encouraged to participate in the following: Holy Thursday adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Eucharistic devotions, and attend the rosary service for our deceased members.
Members help by working on the sale of tickets at social affairs, picnics, bake sales (before Christmas, Easter, and at the Parish Picnic), etc. The Society has sponsored International Princesses for the Lorain International festival. Social events are also held , providing a day of fun and fellowship for members and guests. These events are held for either the benefit of the society or the parish. The funds raised by the Society are used for the needs of the Church. Social events include the Mother’s Day luncheon in May and the annual Christmas Party in December.
We encourage all women of the parish to join our organization. Our meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month and begin at 1:00 p.m. with the rosary, followed by a meeting and social time.
