March 28th message from Father Bob

Dear Parishioners and Friends Here and There, Near and Far,

As we begin Holy Week the bishop has sent guidelines. The bishop stressed that safety regulations must continue to be in place.

Palm Sunday:  The palms will be blessed on a cart under the chandelier in church as Mass begins the ushers will then distribute the palms at each door area.

Holy Thursday:  I will not be washing feet this year. The transfer of the Blessed Sacrament will occur as usual but only ministers of the altar will be in the procession. Adoration will be until 10 PM as usual. We will sanitize the church on Good Friday morning.

Good Friday:  We will not be removing our shoes this year. Veneration of the Cross will be done by either bowing or genuflecting. Please no touching of the Cross.

Holy Saturday:  Traditional blessing of Easter food will occur in the West 14th parking lot as we did last year. The Easter Vigil Mass will begin at 8:30 PM. Please stay in the church. The ministers and I will bless the fire and the candle outside and then enter the church.

Please be patient and concerned about our health and safety.

Thanks and God bless,

Father Bob
