Jan. 2, 2023 Letter from Father Craig

Dear Parishioners:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.  Since April of 2022, I have been the Administrator of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in addition to being the Pastor of St. Peter Parish since June of 2009.  The need for priests is greater than the number of priests that are available. I received notice from Bishop Malesic that it is his desire that I become the pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in addition to pastor at St. Peter Parish.  I have accepted this responsibility.

It was in 1998, on the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, that Fr. Bob Glepko was installed as the last pastor.  On January 28, 2023, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish will begin a 125th year celebration with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Malesic.  At this Mass, I will be installed as the new pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish.  It is my honor to serve the people of Lorain in two different parishes.

I ask the Holy Spirit for continued guidance on our parishes as we journey together toward the Eternal Kingdom to Be in the Presence of Love Forever.

Peace and Prayers,

Father Craig Hovanec
