Two New Saints of Our Time

On April 27, 2014, Pope Francis I proclaimed

Pope John XXIII and

Pope John Paul the Great

as Saints of the Roman Catholic Church.

Since these saints lived in our lifetime, Nativity Parish commemorates their elevation to the altar of Heaven with photographs of the Sainted Pontiffs.  The pictures hang over the entrances to the Sacristies on the North (John Paul) and South (John XXIII)

For the first time in history, there were two popes present for the canonization: Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Beatified St. John Paul the Great, (his immediate predecessor), and  the reigning Pope Francis I.

A Grand Unveiling was held at every Mass for Mercy Sunday
