Washing of the feet

John's Gospel has no narrative of the institution of the Eucharist.  Instead, he tells of the type of service that Catholics must be to each other and the rest of the world--by washing the feet of the disciples.  In the time of Jesus, visitors would get their feet washed upon entering a house as most wore sandals and paved roads barely existed. Their feet were dusty and dirty.  This task was left to the lowliest servant to perform.  Jesus used this symbol to indicate that there is nothing beneath His followers.  As he did, so we must also do.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Good Friday of the Lord's Passion

These vestments were created especially for Nativity parish.  The color is blood red with a black color change when the fabric moves.  The vestments are used only one day a year--on Good Friday.

The Easter Vigil

The single most important night in the church year.  Christ passes from death to life as He is resurrected.  The church, in darkness, becomes illuminated from the newly lit Paschal candle, bathing the congregation in the gentle glow of the new fire representing the Resurrection

Reverend Father, I give to you a special message....the message of ALLELUIA

Easter Day

First Mass of Easter Day:  The Resurrectio

Observing the ancient tradition, the first Mass on Easter day begins with the procession of the Sacred Eucharist through the church. Our procession is led by the ministers of the altar and representatives of the congregation bearing the statue of the Risen Christ.  The statue is enshrined on the North altar, above the empty tomb. This signifies the death, resurrection and everlasting Presence of Jesus Christ in the world.

Easter Mass

Lift High the Cross,

for by it the Glory of God is revealed.

By His stripes we are healed,

by His blood we are cleansed.

Resurrexit, sicut dixit.  Alleluia!
